RBTB Head South To Swansea !!
|
 |
The
Royal Buckley Town Band recently competed at the Wales Regional
contest in Swansea. This follows
a recent visit to the Brass At The Guild contest in Preston
where Duncan Beckley conducted the band for the first time.
Duncan was born in London, but his family moved shortly
afterwards to Wakefield, West Yorkshire and his love for
music grew into a passion and a profession. He started
playing the Flugel horn at ten years of age and progressed
to the tuba, which he played with many brass bands. He is
now a conductor, band trainer, teacher and adjudicator and
travels widely conducting bands throughout Great Britain and
Northern Ireland.
Duncan is also a member of the Association of Brass Band
Adjudicators (ABBA) and is in increasing demand in this role
which he greatly enjoys, having judged at National and Area
contest level.The Band and
Duncan featured in a recent article on the 4BarsRest.com
website. Read more
